KITA or Keyed-In to Abstinence is a federally funded program operating through Bethany Christian Services of the Heartland.

Our mission is to encourage you to make healthy and responsible choices by revealing the truth about premarital sexual activity and its consequences, teaching you how to resist pressures, and focusing on how abstinence until marriage will protect and enhance your future and future relationships.

Our goal is to provide learning opportunities to empower you to postpone sexual activity until marriage.

School curriculum– If you are in middle school, you’ll have the chance to go through Game Plan. If you’re in high school, it is Aspire. Our educators know their stuff, and we hope you have a chance to meet them in your school.

Online forum– If you have a question about sex, about abstinence, or about relationships, please ask! The online forum is a great place to ask questions, read questions that other people have asked, and give your opinion.

Facebook and MySpace– Add us to your friends and get connected connection with our educators and staff. We’d love the chance to connect with you online.

Mentoring– Sometimes you might like to talk to someone older who isn’t your parent, who isn’t your teacher, who isn’t someone connected with your school. Through KITA, you can be connected with a mentor—someone who you can get to know, who you can trust, who you can lean on for some support. We know that choosing abstinence can be a challenge.

Video Production Camp– Have you ever thought about making a movie? Would you like to see your work on YouTube? Do you want to do something that will impact people around you? Spend a weekend creating a video that will tell about the benefits of abstinence and healthy choices…deal with challenges faced by teens like yourself…stretch your creativity and give you some great experience in video production.

Why Abstinence?

Abstinence is the only 100% effective protection from the possible physical, emotional, mental, and social consequences of sex before marriage. Abstinence is the safest and healthiest lifestyle.
